Monumental design

Part of a playground situated in Amsterdam. The playground is a homage to the playground designer Aldo van Eijk,  the designer of the first public playgrounds in the world.The playground symbolize the four elements, water air fire and earth. The four cubes symbolize the air. It reflex the air and the surface makes sound that travels trough the air. When you sit on one it go’s down the one opposite is going up.

The playground is situated at the Willeartsqaure. Adriaan Willeart ( 1458-1565) was the developer of the polyphony and he was the main composing artist at the St. Marco Church in Venice. The cubes are situated on a floor plan like the St. Marco.
